Amazing What An Editor Will Do For His Girlfriend
Recently, members of Arnold’s AV Club spent a few days making a music video for Boston singer/songwriter Michelle Lewis.
The idea, as directed by Arnold editor Nathan Laver, was to take advantage of the latest generation of video cameras to achieve a more filmic look than previously possible, shooting in point-of-view perspective to connect the video to the lyrics. Art director Tim Mahoney lent his Canon 5D Mark II camera, and senior brand planner Jaime Stein and art director Kat Dawson -- both alumni of the Arnold Film Competition -- lent their hands and minds to the production. Super AV intern Brian Way assisted in post-production, and the video hit YouTube and Vimeo a mere week after shooting.
Please enjoy the fruits of their weekend labor above. The song is entitled “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” from Michelle’s new EP, Broken, which released on Saturday, October 3 at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge. Out-of-towners can order the disc, which includes an HD version of the music video, on her Web site: michellelewismusic.com.
